Zhivkov resigned as coach of Saipa after his club suffered the fourth defeat in eight matched in the Super League. He was replaced by the local coach Mohammad Hamseh, who has been at the helm of several clubs in Iran, so far.

The Bulgarian was appointed as Saipa coach this summer after leaving Dobrudja 07 Dobrich with whom he won the national title in 2015/16 and national Cup last season.
