Slöetjes got the most votes of the readers of the website Volleybalkrant.nl which organized the ceremony and was also elected by the jury as best player of the year.

Volleybalkrant.nl hosted the election for the best Dutch volleyball players of the year – beach and indoor – for the third year in a row.
