Khorasan vs. Sarmayeh
The game against Saipa Alborz VC took place at “Alghadir hall” with the presence of 4,000 passionate supporters encouraging their team in the 104 minutes of a battle which ended up on their great pleasure 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-14, 25-17). Urmia took their 12th win in this season.
The team of Sarmayeh Bank played the game against Mizan Khorasan VC without their captain Mehdi Mahdavi. He was suspended by the Disciplinary Committee of Iran’s Volleyball Federation due to incident with Italian Valerio Vermiglio, on December 27.
The game lasted more than two hours with only 500 fans on the stands. Good performance of Khorasan players allowed them to win the first two sets, but huge experience from the visitors helped them to come back to the game 3-2 (17-25, 18-25, 25-19, 28-26, 15-13).
Both sides were nervous, so the umpire has given four yellow and two red cards. One of those players that received red card was Seyed Mousavi, the middle blocker of Sarmayeh and Iran’s NT.
The longest games of the week was played in Varamin city, where the home team Matin Varamin lost to Shahrdari Tabriz 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 16-25, 15-11) after 2 hours and 25 minutes.
Bulgarian Valentin Bratoev from Tabriz was best scorer of the game with 25 points. On the other side, Rahman Davoodi collected 13.
