After achieving hard-fought win in opening round against Hisamitsu Springs, Red Rockets had even harder match in Round 2 against Okayama Seagulls, which they prevailed only after tie-break, partially 18-25, 21-25, 27-25, 25-16, 15-8.
Sarina Koga led champions with 22 points, while Aiki Kawabata topped Seagulls’ scorers with 15, but her team still din’t win a single game in Top 6.
Hitachi Rivale Ibaraki have a perfect start of the second phase in Japanese top division after scoring another win.
The most deserving player for downing Hisamitsu Springs on road (3-0) was American Lauren Paolini. She had 25 points while Miyu Nagaoka collected 15 in losing team.
