In the closing match of the 25th round of Plus Liga, which was a battle for the second seed that secures a direct promotion to the playoff semifinals, Onico defeated Jastrzębski at home by a 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-21).
Before the encounter in the Polish capital, Onico had a four-point advantage over Jastrzębski in the standings so the team from Jastrzębie-Zdrój had to win three points to have at least a fighting chance to claim No.2. And they failed to do so.
Bartosz Kurek with 13 points and Canadian Graham Vigrass with 78% perfect attack were key figures for Onico in the victory while German Christian Fromm scored 12 points for Jastrzębski.
