In an extremely exciting clash that included two teams who started the 2019/20 PlusLiga regular season very well, PROJEKT Warszawa beat the home side of Aluron Virtu CMC Zawiercie in the tie-break: 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 15-25, 18-16). Aluron Virtu (4-1) had a chance to become provisional leaders in case of defeating an unbeaten side (5-0) from the country’s capital. However, they will still have to wait for such a stunt.
Before the match, Warszawa fans learned that their newcomer in the offseason, Belarussian Artur Udrys, will remain sidelined for a long time due to rehabilitation after surgery. Bartosz Kwolek top-scored for Warszawa with 18 points, while Piotr Nowakowski made 5 kill blocks. Mateusz Malinowski tallied 24 points for Aluron Virtu.
