In one group Poland will face Brazil, Iran and Italy and coach Stefan Antiga said that reformed competition will be as much difficult as interesting:
“Iran is a dangerous opponent. Under the leadership of Julio Velasco Iranians made great progress. They proved that on Grand Champions Cup with victories over Italy, USA and Japan. Confrontation with them will be an interesting experience for us” – said Antiga.
Frenchmen than continued:
“Toughest rival will be Brazil which is, alongside Russia, main favorite for winning the competition. That match will certainly be the most attractive for Polish fans, because they will have the opportunity to watch the best volleyball players. As for Italy… They remain on the high level for years and proved on the last European Championship that are still one of the best.”
