Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, who’ll have the task to defend titles in the Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship and CEV Champions League next season, informed of hiring a Bulgarian prospect.
A young member of the Bulgaria National Team, Denis Karyagin, will join the composition of ZAKSA for the 2022-23 season, thus closing the PlusLiga and Champions League winners’ roster for the new season.
Karyagin is described as one of the greatest talents of Bulgarian volleyball. The 19-year-old player won all possible trophies in domestic competitions with Neftochimic Burgas, where he spent three seasons. The young player has his first transfer abroad last season, joining the ranks of Italy’s Vero Volley Monza, who now loaned him to ZAKSA.
After a successful performance during last year’s FIVB U21 World Championship, Karyagin made his debut for the senior Bulgaria National Team this year. The player, who covers the position of the outside hitter, due to his versatility, found himself in the role of the opposite hitter in the national team in the FIVB VNL and FIVB World Championship, acting as a substitute for one of the stars of Bulgarian volleyball, Tsvetan Sokolov.
