Following the conclusion of the Olympic Games and various continental competitions, the focus of national teams is now shifting towards club seasons. As teams worldwide ramp up their preparations and promotional activities, one club is spotlighting an exceptional initiative.
The Jastrzębski Węgiel recently embarked on a visit to the Borynia-Zofiówka-Bzie coal mine, operated by their strategic partner, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. This event provided the team with an in-depth look into the coal extraction technology and the challenging conditions faced by underground miners.
The delegation, consisting of players and coaching staff, spent an afternoon at the mine. They were first briefed on the mine’s operations before donning work attire for hands-on training in the mine’s rescue station. This training covered the use of escape apparatuses, essential equipment for any miner.
Following their tour, the team and mine management enjoyed a shared meal, further strengthening the bond between the club and its partner. Łukasz Kaczmarek and Norbert Huber, were particularly impressed by the experience. Kaczmarek highlighted the extreme conditions and dangers faced by miners, while Huber praised the opportunity to witness the daily risks taken by those who support the club.
