As Biznes Online reported, two players from Zenit Kazan will play in Ural Ufa next season: the outside hitter Aleksey Spiridonov “Spirik“ and opposite hitter Nikita Alekseev.

Last season, a 30-year-old Spiridonov played 12 matches for Zenit in the Russian Championship and 5 matches in the CEV Champions League. For Spirik, this was the third season at the Kazan club, for which he had previously played from 2014 to 2016. Spiridonov is familiar with playing in Ural to which he returned after six years. Spiridonov played 61 matches in Russia national team, winning the 2013 CEV European Championship and the FIVB World League twice (2011, 2013).

A 26-year-old Alekseev appeared in 27 matches for Zenit in Superliga and 9 in the CEV Champions League last season. In the course of his career, he also played for Ural (2012-2014 and 2015/16).

Both Spiridonov and Alekseev helped Ural achieve the best result in the club history – the silver medal in the national championship in the 2012/13 season.

Earlier, Ural signed setter Sergey Makarov (Gazprom-Yugra Surgut), outside hitter Denis Biryukov and middle blocker Leonid Kuznetsov (both from Dinamo-LO Leningrad region).
