Irina-Fetisova
The middle blocker Irina Fetisova suffered an appendicitis attack after the match against Belarus on Day 1 and underwent immediate surgery in Bratislava in which Russia play their matches of Pool D. That is why she was not on the roster for the second match against Switzerland.
A 24-year-old athlete is doing well after the surgery but will miss out the rest of the tournament.
After having completed three matches in the 2019 EuroVolley, Russia are third in the pool with a 2-1 record and 7 points.
