RUSSIAN CUP M: Zenit Kazan have been dethroned, Dinamo joins St. Petersburg in the final

Zenit Kazan won’t get a new opportunity to play in the final, after being defeated by Zenit St. Petersburg in the semifinals of the Russian Cup 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 17-15).

After winning six straight national cups of Russia, Zenit Kazan have been dethroned and won’t compete for the gold medal.

It was a game with many turnarounds and the team from St. Petersburg managed to win the game in the tiebreak with two points of difference 17-15.

Dinamo Moscow are the second finalists, beating the current champions of Russia Lokomotiv in five sets as well 3-2 (19-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-8).

Even though the team from Moscow was down by two sets, however, they managed to make a huge comeback and to win the match.

Russian Cup, 2020/2021:

Lokomotiv Novosibirsk – Dinamo Moscow 2-3 (25-19, 25-14, 23-25, 19-25, 8-15)

Zenit St. Petersburg – Zenit Kazan 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 17-15).
