“We are among the 24 teams who got the right to participate in this elite competition and this makes me very proud” said Serbian-born head coach Zoran Terzic. “We have been working very hard to get ready for the start of the season and we want to achieve good results. We just take it step by step and of course it would be great if we could make the final four and this could take place here in Omsk.”
“The fact that Omichka is participating in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League are great news for the city of Omsk as well as for the entire Omsk Region” said the Sports Minister of the Omsk Oblast (Region), Alexander Fabricius. “I would like to stress that Omichka is the very first women’s Volleyball team from Siberia to take part in this elite competition.”
Natalya Mammadova is probably the most experienced player in the team and knows the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League from previous experiences with other clubs. “Every game is equally important to me no matter if this is Champions League or Russian league. I always want to win”.
Team captain Elena Yureva, also known under her maiden name Hendzel, concluded: “I agree with Natalya, we shall play our best in every single game. However, the home matches of the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League shall be a very special event for our fans here in Omsk. I just hope that as many as possible will come and support us”.
