Lokomotiv strengthened their roster for the very finish of the season in the 2021/22 Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship.
The titleholders Lokomotiv will compete in the post-season of the Women’s Superliga Paribet with a newcomer in the squad that can make the difference.
Yana Shcherban, who played for Italy’s Vbc Trasporti Pesanti Casalmaggiore, will finish the season in Kaliningrad. The Serie A side ended up 11th in the Italian Championship and didn’t qualify for the playoffs so for them, 2021/22 is over. Thus, Shcherban, a 32-year-old outside hitter and a former Russia National Team member (gold medalist at the 2015 CEV EuroVolley), decided to return to play in her home country to help the team in the playoffs.
