The second round of the Russian Superliga began today with two matches.
In the first match, Gazprom-Yugra (Surgut) edged out Neftyanik (Orenburg) 3-2 (21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 12-25, 16-14) in a dramatic five-set battle. The game was marked by numerous momentum swings and standout performances from players on both teams, including Vitaliy Papazov’s 18 points and Ilya Spodobets’ 22.
In the other match, Kuzbass (Kemerovo) claimed a solid 3-1 victory over MGTU (Moscow) with scores of 25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20. Egor Sidenko led Kuzbass with 18 points, contributing to their dominant performance.
