RUS M: Zenit and Belogorie only one step away from finals

Russian title holder Zenit Kazan learned its lesson from the first semifinal clash in the playoff of Super League and beat Dinamo Moscow with less trouble.

Zenit defeated the opponent from the Russian capital in straight sets even without its captain Nikolay Apalikov, who participated in pre-match warm up, but didn’t play. He suffered knee injury in the first match which Zenit won in four sets.

Final result was 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 with partial for Kazan team who took 2-0 lead in series and now needs only one more victory to qualify for the finals. Next game will be played in Moscow, on April 4.

Belogorie Belgorod also gained 2-0 lead in semifinal series against Gazprom Yugra Surgut by winning with 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-19), which was another straight sets victory.

Next match in the series is scheduled for April 4 on Gazprom Yugra’s court.
