In the interview for plusliga.pl, Vladimir Alekno denied that has ever said that Poland won the previous World Championship mostly thanks to the big support they had from the stands.
“I did not say that. Yes there was a huge support from the stands on that tournament, and Polish fans are truly remarkable. But, the most important thing was that Poland had a really strong team. That is the point – fans do not win trophies, teams do that” said Alekno.
