The Russian Volleyball Federation decided not to extend contracts with men’s national team head coach Vladimir Alekno (who actually had no contract at all) and with women’s national team head coach Yuri Marichev.
Russia stayed without an Olympic volleyball medal for the first time in 20 years and the Russian Volleyball Federation decided to change both head coaches.
“Their work was evaluated as unsatisfactory. We are now looking for new head coaches and final decisions about this matter should be made in the second half of November” said Russian Volleyball Federation president Stanislav Shevchenko.
So, now the speculations can officialy start – Who will lead the men’s and the women’s national team of Russia in future?

A big mistake
biggest mistake of russia volleyball federation to let alekno go. now the dooms day of russia is back
best was to suck Shevchenko, not Alekno.
