“I must congratulate my team for this historic victory. The match wasn’t easy, as we claimed the first and second sets by 25-23 and only the third one was perfect. We showed the potential and quality that we wanted, and I think tactically speaking we did very well, as my players executed the game plan we had agreed upon and so this victory is well deserved.” said Željko Tanaskovic coavh of Vizura.
The libero of Vizura, Teodora Pušić said: “We started the match very well, we played at a high level and did not tremble even when RC CANNES edged ahead by one or two points. We played like a team, especially when it counted the most, and I think that this match was a quality game and that the fans enjoyed it. I hope we will continue playing with the same intensity and rhythm also in the next stages of the Champions League as well as in our domestic competitions.”
Sanja Bursać, the Serbian-born captain of RC CANNES, said: “We didn’t play at our level. Our team is young but that is not an excuse. I really don’t know what happened, why we played so bad but we must work a lot to be better in the next matches.”
