Lotos Trefl Gdansk won the Polish Supercup after defeating Asseco Resovia in 5 sets – 3-2 (25:23, 25:18, 23:25, 22:25, 15:12)! Once again two volleyball giants presented a tremendous volleyball show. Gdansk won the opening two sets, but Resovia tied the score at 2-2 and came so close of making an epic comeback.
Not to mention that the reigning champions of Poland had 11:9 lead in the tie-break…
But, then Lotos Trefl Gdansk won 4 points in a row and went in front – 13:11! Wojciech Grzyb was the hero of Anastasi’s team as he won two such important points in that run. Asseco Resovia reduced the margin to 13:12, but then made a service mistake for 14:12.
Finally, Bartosz Gawryszewski blocked Dawid Dryja and scored the championship point for Gdansk.
