Due to an excessive number of foreigners on the roster of Jaamsa Voleibol Club, a 25-year-old Cuban national team middle blocker Daymara Lescay was forced to find herself a new club. She has chosen Jaamsa’s rivals in the Peruvian Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol, Universidad César Vallejo (also known as UCV).
In her new club, Lescay will have a company of a compatriot Laura Suárez. A 19-year-old middle blocker came from a side in her home country Pinar Del Río. Last summer, Suárez took part in the FIVB U23 World Championship in Slovenia. By signing with UCV, she closed the first international transfer in her career.
