FIN W: HPK win trophy in national Cup for the first time in 12 years

HPK have won the gold medal in the Finnish women’s volleyball Cup.

The team from the city of Hämeenlinna has won a long-awaited trophy in the national Cup, the first one in 12 years.

In the final match held at a newly opened gymnasium Kupittaan in Turku, HPK swept Pölkky Kuusamo by a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-17).

The foreign duo topped the winning side: Canadian Vicky Savard scored 17 points while Italian Laura Baggi added 10 points. The most outstanding player in Kuusamo was Essi Helminen with 10 points.
