TURKISH CUP M: Coach’s expulsion triggers fight on stands during Galatasaray vs Cizre match (VIDEO)

Galatasaray HDI Sigorta and Allpower Akü Cizre Bld. locked horns in the quarter-finals of the 2021/22 Turkish Men’s Volleyball Cup. During the match, a fistfight broke out after the assistant coach of the visiting side was expulsed.

A fistfight broke out on the stands during the tie-break of the quarter-final match of the 2021/22 Erkekler AXA Sigorta Kupa Voley, played between Galatasaray and Cizre. The commotion started when the Cizre assistant coach yelled at Galatasaray players. He was dismissed but then the tension spread to the stands where the friends of the assistant coach got involved in a fight with Galatasaray fans. Even the Galatasaray players ran towards the stands but didn’t get involved in it. According to the Turkish media, the fight then spread to the corridors of the hall and was broken up by the police.

During all that, the match was stopped for about 10 minutes. Galatasaray prevailed 3-2 and reached the semi-finals.
