In Pool E clash of Group 1 (first round of the second weekend) in Long Beach, California, USA, Turkish National Team ended two-game losing streak and recovered twice against Japan, from 0-1 and 1-2 to got 3-2 (21-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13).
There are three words that can describe this match – domination in block. Believe it or not, Turkey had 28 comparing to 5 from Japan! That way, Turkey annulled as much as 43 errors.
Polen Uslupehlivan led Turkey in scoring with 25 points (6 blocks), Saori Sakoda had 16 in Japan.
In same pool, USA achieved hard-fought win over Germany 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-10, 25-23). Karsta Lowe led US NT with 20 points. Louisa Lippmann collected 10 in Germany who remained without a single triumph so far. USA have 3-1 record.
