Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie recently made an exciting announcement regarding its latest addition – the Australian libero, Luke Perry. The acclaimed player was previously part of the Trefl Gdańsk team for the preceding season.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Perry’s volleyball journey began at the Australian Institute of Sport. He gained international attention in 2014 when he performed exceptionally in the Finnish team Lakkapää, despite the team’s 10th position finish. The German team, VfB Friedrichshafen, quickly took note of Perry’s talent, securing him for their next season.
Perry’s remarkable achievements included being named the best libero of the 2016 Olympic qualification tournament in Tokyo and winning the German championship twice with Berlin Recycling Volleys. His prowess led him to the PlusLiga league for the first time in 2018 with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów.
Despite a brief lack of success and a pandemic-interrupted season with the Rzeszów team, Perry’s career took an upward turn in 2021. As the libero for French team Tours VB, he won the vice-championship and led the team to the CEV Cup final. Perry’s return to Poland was marked by exceptional performances with Trefl Gdańsk.
