Matt Anderson, one of the world’s top volleyball players, has officially confirmed the rumors swirling around his next professional move. In a social media post, the American outside hitter bid farewell to Turkish powerhouse Ziraat Bankasi, with whom he recently clinched both the Turkish Championship and the prestigious CEV Cup.
Anderson expressed deep gratitude to the club, its fans, and the entire Ziraat family:
“People won’t always remember what you did, but rather how you made them feel,” he wrote.
“The next adventure awaits me in Sakai…”
That adventure? A new chapter in Japan, where Anderson will don the jersey of Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers in the upcoming season. His arrival is expected to bring not only experience and firepower to the Japanese SV.League but also global attention.
After a decorated stint in Turkey, this move marks a fresh challenge for the veteran as he continues to build his legendary volleyball journey—this time in the Land of the Rising Sun.
