The transfer is now official. Savino Del Bene Volley announced the signing of Serbian middle blocker Maja Aleksić, who will join the Italian club for the 2026/27 season.
Aleksić returns to Italy after spending last season with Turkish side Zeren Spor Kulübü, where she competed in the Turkish League, Turkish Cup, and CEV Champions League.
The 29-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Marco Gaspari’s squad, having played professionally in Serbia, Romania, France, Italy, and Turkey.
On the international stage, Aleksić has been one of Serbia’s most successful middle blockers, winning world titles in 2018 and 2022, the 2019 European Championship, and an Olympic bronze medal at the Tokyo Games.
“I’m really happy to be back in Italy because it truly feels like a second home,” Aleksić said after her move was confirmed. “Savino Del Bene is a fantastic club, and when they contacted me, I didn’t have to think twice. I immediately knew I wanted to come.”
