EMS Taubaté Funvic lifted the second trophy in only one week.
After winning the title of the first edition of the Super Vôlei – the unofficial championship of Brazil established to compensate the last season’s championship that was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic – the team led by Argentine coach Javier Weber beat Sada Cruzeiro for the 2020 Super Cup. Partially, it was 19-25, 25-21, 30-28, 14-25, and 15-11.
Thus, Taubaté prevailed over the same rivals in the face-off for the trophy for the second time in only a week. The match was held in Campo Grande, in the reopened Guanandizão gymnasium. The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) allowed the presence of 10% of the total capacity of the hall.
The same venue will also host the women’s Super Cup. Dentil/Praia Clube and Sesc RJ Flamengo will face each other on November 6.
