This victory sees Kenya solidify its reputation as a dominant force in African volleyball. The sets concluded at 25-22, 25-20, and 25-14, proving Kenya’s prowess as they’ve remained unbeaten in the tournament.
Following closely in the medal tally was Cameroon, which claimed the bronze after a 3-1 win against Rwanda. In the bronze medal match Cameroon experienced an initial hiccup against Rwanda, dropping the first set. However, they quickly regained momentum and secured a 3-1 victory with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.
Individual awards: The championship witnessed some phenomenal individual performances. Kiprono Sharon Chepchumba of Kenya was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Joining her in the dream team were:
