Egypt, the host nation, reasserted its dominance, wresting the title from previous champions Tunisia. They clinched the gold after a gripping match against Algeria, registering a 3-1 victory. This win cements Egypt’s position as the reigning titan in African volleyball. Meanwhile, Algeria’s journey to the silver medal marks their formidable resurgence on the international scene.

Libya, by defeating Cameroon, added another layer to this evolving narrative by claiming the bronze. Tunisia’s position at fifth, though lower than expected, reaffirms their strong presence in the African volleyball circuit.

Yet, the championship was not without its controversies. Morocco, anticipated to be among the frontrunners, finished at a shocking 8th position. The drama further escalated when Mohammed Al Hachdadi, Morocco’s star player and captain, was allegedly suspended under mysterious circumstances. He later took to social media, sharing insinuations of an unjust suspension, sparking numerous debates and speculations.

Despite the controversies, the championship stands as a testament to Africa’s thriving volleyball community. It’s an optimistic harbinger of what lies ahead, and as fans, we hope for a future where controversies take a backseat, letting pure talent shine through.
