BRA W: Reigning champions with another win, Osasco prevail over Sao Caetano

The season in the Brazilian women’s Superliga has officially started. Well, only for the reigning champions, it was the second game, since they played one a couple of days ago.

 

This one against Volei Balneario was an easy victory for Praia Clube. Fabiana Claudino was the best scorer with 12 points, while Carolina Silva had 10 points.

Osasco have opened the season with a 3-1 win. Angela Leyva led Osasco with 21 points, while Oliveira Walwska had 18, Destiny Hooker 15 and Mariana Costa 14.

In the home team, Dayana Segovia scored 15 points.

The vice-champions SESC RJ have also scored a victory, beating Curitiba in straight sets 25-21, 25-20, 25-21.

Brazilian Women’s League, round 1:

Sesi Bauru – Hinode 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-15)

Pinheiros – Fluminense 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-21)

Volei Balneario – Praia Clube 0-3 (14-25, 18-25, 16-25)

Brasilia Volei – Minas Tenis Clube 1-3 (25-21 12-25 14-25 23-25)

SAO Caetano – Osasco 1-3 (20-25, 25-21, 15-25, 26-28)

SESC RJ – Curitiba 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-11)
