Tijana Boskovic and Bartosz Kurek players of the year!

At the ceremony in Budapest, Hungary, CEV have chosen the best players and coaches of the year, both in men’s and women’s competition.


The MVPs of the World Championship 2018 have been elected for the best players of the year – Tijana Boskovic (Serbia) and Bartosz Kurek (Poland).

Also, the head coaches that led their team to the gold medal at the World Championship have been chosen for the best in 2018 – Zoran Terzic (Serbia) and Vital Heynen (Poland).

For the Kings of the beach have been selected Anders Berntsen MOL/Christian Sandlie SØRUM (NOR) and the Queens of the beach are Barbora HERMANNOVA/Marketa SLUKOVA (CZE).

Carlo SALVATORI (ITA) has received Lifitime Achievement Award, while Denis SHEKUNOV/Dmitrii VERETIUK (RUS) received a special award for outstanding achievements in age-group competitions.

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
