The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) announced a complete final list of the men’s national team players for the 2019 international season.

Earlier, Brazil Men head coach Renan Dal Zotto summoned 15 players to the preliminary list but left room for seven players who competed in the national championship finals and two players who competed in leagues abroad, more precisely in Italy.

The opposite hitter Alan Souza, outside hitters Douglas Souza, Lucas Lóh and Ricardo Lucarelli, middle blocker Lucas Saatkamp “Lucão“ and libero Thales Hoss will appear next Monday (May 20) in Campinas where Brazil will have two friendlies against Canada. The middle blocker Otávio Pinto will also appear on May 20, but at the training center in Saquarema. The setter Bruno Rezende “Bruninho“ and outside hitter Yoandy Leal, both defending the colors of Cucine Lube Civitanova (Italy) will appear on May 27. Bruninho will go to Saquarema, while Leal will join the team in Katowice, Poland, for the first weekend of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League. Thus, for the first time in history, Brazilian Men’s national team will have a player who changed his sports citizenship. A 30-year-old Cuban-born Leal was granted by the FIVB to play for Brazil in October 2017.

POL M: Young Australian coach Reynolds will command Jastrzębski next season

Many Strength and Conditioning Coaches/Scoutman are trying to get into coaching. Due to their lack of experience and knowledge, at first, they take a major pay cut in comparison to actual volleyball coaches. Currently, coaching jobs are paying very little, even in the top leagues, and some of the experienced coaches are not taking jobs for 25.000-40.000 EUR, knowing that demands are just as high as before when they were making double of this salary. Unfortunately, club leaderships see coaches as a disposable matter and therefore keep dropping salaries because there are candidates that will take these jobs. I am not here to judge, just to describe some of the dynamics around this profession. Reply

POL M: Young Australian coach Reynolds will command Jastrzębski next season

Interesting trend, that some coaches who specialised on physical training, some who never played volleyball on top level, became pretty successful volleyball coaches. It can be observed in some menś and women teams. It reflects a situation that volleyball has become a very physical sport. Even the world champion country, which in past had taught others, needs coaches from abroad who come into this category. Reply
