The current Montenegrin Men’s Volleyball Championship winners Budva hired setter who competed in the Italian top division last season.

Budva, who won the Montenegrin Championship last season and will play the qualifications for the 2020 CEV Champions League, hired Dutch setter Wessel Keemink.

A 25-year-old player is coming from an Italian powerhouse Azimut Leo Shoes Modena in which he acted as a backup setter. Last season, Keemink won the Italian Super Cup and competed in the semifinals of the playoffs.

Besides the Dutch setter, Budva signed libero Ljubomir Popović from the home league rivals Jedinstvo Franca and extended with Serbian head coach Vladimir Vasović.

Interestingly, Budva claimed the national title, and also the national Cup, in the first year of their existence. Many might confuse this club with Budvanska Rivijera Budva, the most-titled Montenegrin Men’s Volleyball Club with 18 championship titles. But, Budvanska Rivijera Budva shut down in 2017 and the city decided to help to establish the new team to represent the city, a year later.

CL M: Decimated by injuries, Trentino fall to Lube in all-Italian derby

Something is not working well within Trentino this season. They have the same team as last year but no results. Lube is weaker than last year (Sokolov and Stankovic left) and yet they play better. Leal is playing more and Juantorena is a top-notch professional despite his age of 35, but still. Reply

CL M: Decimated by injuries, Trentino fall to Lube in all-Italian derby

Trentino should be fine to advance in the top 3 2nd place positions for Champions League quarterfinals. Hopefully this rest will help them. That win in Milano was impressive. Lube continues to look great and Juantorena is still playing at a high level. Reply
