Former Serbia National Team member Nikola Kovačević set off an Arabian adventure.

Veteran outside hitter Nikola Kovačević, whose sibling Uroš has just won the 2019 EuroVolley MVP award (and a gold medal with Serbia), moved to Saudi Arabia. The 36-year-old outside hitter will play for the country’s powerhouse Al Hilal.

The team based in Riyadh will be the 17th destination in his professional career. Last season, he performed for BKS Visła Bydgoszcz, Poland. Kovačević had a successful international career, winning the 2011 CEV European Championship in which he was named Best Receiver. He also collected one bronze medal in the FIVB World Championship, two bronze medals in the CEV EuroVolley and three silver and one bronze medal in the FIVB World League. On a club level, he won Serbian, Polish and Chinese Championship once each.

ITA M: De Cecco has contract with Lube in his hands, Bruno going in opposite direction?

Not sure this is a smart move on Lube's part. De Cocco is not the level of Bruno, Christenson and Giannelli. Maybe they should outside of Italy for great setter since they forced Christenson out who just signed a 3-year extension with Modena, and Giannelly is not leaving Trentino. Reply
