The top seed ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle narrowly avoided elimination from the 2018/19 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship playoff semifinals.

The No.4 seed Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie upset ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in Game 1 and was so close to eliminating main title favorites from the Plus Liga 2018/2019 playoff semifinals after gaining a two-set lead in Game 2 at home. ZAKSA failed to keep a four-point lead in each of these two sets and the end to their title hopes was just about the corner. But, the side coached by Italian Andrea Gardini managed to make a full turnaround and tie the series at 1-1: 3-2 (16-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-12).

Belgian Sam Deroo top-scored for ZAKSA with 20 points while Łukasz Wiśniewski made 80% excellent attack (10 kills, eight perfect). Portuguese international Alexandre Ferreira put down 30 points (four aces) for Aluron Virtu.

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

Organisation of OG Qualification in Poland reminds me WCh2014 as far as a timetable, referees.. It is enough to compare all schedules of home NT with other qualification groups.. Poland NT is probably currently the strongest NT in men volleyball in the world, and it does not need any such a trick... Of course, it indicates also the role of FIVB, which is orientated mainly on a profit... Reply

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

um...did he protest as loudly during Italian tournaments in the past? really, if Poland was playing this tournament in France, we would have as unreasonable schedule as they had and, we too, would complain, but what does it matter? FIVB accepted the schedule, so Ngapeth can only blame his own federation for not fighting for this tournament's organization rights more. Reply
