It is amazing in the disparity of wealth and talent that Zenit has from every other Russian team. The freedom that they have to interchange lineuos and rest premier players is certainly a luxury. I dont see any team touching them this year in league play

Re: @suisse so what is the sense of playing such a league? I don’t see any

Re: @Axe
Well its not Zenit’s fault they are so good and stacked. Other teams need to meet the challenge and catch up.
The Italian leagues have done just that and we are seeing competitve matches every weekend and some upsets here and there. This has raised attendance and interest from fans, media and sponsors.

Re: @suisse some teams underestimated Zenit Kazan at the start of the league summer window. Kazan lost Leon but brought in Ngapeth who is not as physically gifted as Leon but is a technical wizard when it comes to the ball. Instead of powering up their squad to compete with Zenit Kazan’s ‘weakest form’ they were very conservative.
In Italy, a lot of teams embraced Perugia’s first team break-up with Zaytsev, Russell and Anzani’s departure that circumvented the power leakage of the scudetto champions to other teams.
Zenit St. Petersburg the runner up of the Russian Superleague took Zenit Kazan seriously but I’m not gonna lie, i’m just not a fan of their 2018-19 squad changes.
