In the first round of the Rio 2016 men’s volleyball tournament, Italy scored a superior straight sets win over France. After the game, Ivan Zaytsev gave an interesting statement for the Italian media.
“This win was not just a coincidence. We were convinced that we are capable of winning the match in straight sets. We wanted the take a bit of revenge for the last two defeats against France, and for all those “smiles” and provocations from their side. That is what they do when they are winning. Now, we showed that we are tired of listening to those stories of “How beautiful France is playing” or “How Ngapeth is good”. Yes, they are a strong team, they won the World League and the European Championship, but now we proved that we are good as well. And I am glad because of that,” said Zaytsev for ivolleymagazine.it.

@Axe I agree with him, the Team ‘ Yavbou ‘ is the only team that makes fun of his opponents : italians , Brasilians , Serbians , Americans remain humble.
@Lord Humungous They don’t laugh about the others teams. It’s not to be humble or not. Just a team who works with pleasure and fantasy, anything more… People who don’t understand that after 4 years, are just jealous people.
and now france need to prove that they can win this OLYMPIC GAMES.
This is just an opening match. France is just making fun within the team. Many times, they do not even look serious about the critical points. So no need to feel offensed.
