Volleyball world in Poland is furious at the referees who were in charge of the first game in Tehran.

Iran won the match by 3-2, while Polish media immediately started accusing referees for not doing their job well. In some texts on the internet you can literally find accusations that the referees could not understand each other, not just because of the noise, but because their English was not good! Due to lack of communication, Stephane Antiga even tried to draw a video replay request in the tie-break (?!), reports sportowefakty.pl.

The same source writes that Michal Kubiak was especially furious after the game and that he literally said:

I wish the referees were simply better. At such a high level of volleyball you can not accept such errors that have been committed.”

The second game between Iran and Poland is scheduled for Sunday and it might be the decisive clash in the battle for World League Final-Six.

It was a cabaret. No red cards for Iranians was really embarassing. In tie break especially when they showed really boorish gestures to polish players. Almost all team of Iran. It’s unacceptable in sport at the highest level. There… foreign team has no chance even if it’s better in sport way. There… must win Iran no matter what. FIVB, shame on you. I feel sorry for the USA, Poland and Russia that they must play in such a place.

It is normal after that game yesterday to say that it’s almost impossible to win in Iran! And I can say that from ‘big surprise’ when Iran started to play in high level, now they are one of the teams that I really don’t like, just because of attitude from all the players! Just look the expression of every single player when they won a point, specially after block point!! If the level is the top, 10, then the attitude is 0!!!

don’t act like losers!
Referees had many mistakes in favor of poland!
if somebody deserve red card, that is antiga who was wasting time just to stop iranian doing well! that’s really childish.

and hotel conditions! seriously?!!! even americans were satisfied with conditions and iran being host.
it’s first time that I hear such thing!
you poland fans, at least try to find the better excuses.

MELIKA P
It’s true. Americans were in a different hotel. The Poles say that the conditions in the hotel are terrible. And players are still followed and can not leave the hotel. If you dont believe me i can send you link to this interview.

to all those polish guys who disrespected to Iran country and Iranian people and team Iran just because they lost their match:
I thought that Poland is a big country in volleyball that have big fans BUT after last night match when I saw the reaction from polish people who disrespected to a country just because they lost to their team in an ordinary volleyball match and when I saw that they try to excuse their lost by disrespecting I found out I was wrong about them or at least about some of them! They can’t just accept their lost!! these guys can see the behavior of Iranian players BUT the can’t see the same behavior of polish players and their coach!! They can see what Mousavi did BUT they can’t or maybe they don’t want to see that was a reaction on what Antiga did, on what Kubiak did! I am disagree on what Mousavi did BUT you guys like it or not that was a reaction on what Antiga did in the last set! and nobody didn’t see that unprofessional behaviors of Antiga and Kubiak.
Kubiak is a fanatic guy that have many unprofessional behaviors! He did the same in world championship with Mousavi. with Wallace de Suza (Brazilian player). even with the Iranian referee during their match with Brazil.
referee was bad and I say the same BUT I didn’t see anybody mention about the bad referee and video check in the first to match in poland even worldofvolley!!!
I’m sorry for myself that I thought good about these guys!

to worldofvolley:
your work was very good to show the Iranian actions and behaviors! BUT the thing that I didn’t know about here is that here is team poland fan club!! I’m sorry but this is the truth!! because I don’t see any topic about the behaviors of polish coach and players!
I want from all Iranian fans that don’t comment here anymore because you’re wasting your time in team poland fan club!!

@kev

I agree!
everybody knows-except polish fans!- that team poland most of the time cheat, win by Referees’ help, they have one of the worst behaviour among volleyball players. kubiak as a obvious example always laugh on iranian players when he gets the point, but this site never says anything about it!

@SRY6 @Aga @justinian @milos radosavljevic What you said about the hotel proves that you dont know anything about it. There are some points you need to know : 1-All teams are settled in one of the best hotels of Tehran. 2- Iranian team is also in the same hotel. 3. fivb has confirmed that Iran’s facilities are in line with international standards and the word terrible is completely wrong to describe the place. 4-USA team came to our country last week.they were also in this hotel and satisfied with it.It was the first time they experienced our stadium but there was no problem during the match and nothing controversial happened. 5- such problems only take place in matches between Iran and Poland and I believe its both sides fault. I dont deny that Mousavi Marouf Kubiak and others behaved badly . They all tried to humiliate each other and its not right at all. 6- I’m an Iranian fan but I’m realistic and try to judge fairly. I agree with you about the refereeing which made both sides nervous but the referees were not chosen by Iranians. We had nothing to do with them.6- why do you insist on saying matches shouldn’t be held in Iran? Iran’s volleyball federation always provide best facilities for the guests and fivb also controls every thing.7- PLEASE try to find your own team’s mistakes , accept it and learn from it instead of inventing reasons and Insulting Iran and Iranians.

I have never saw, anythings in my life that occur in villeyball match that i can descript as low. Watched the matched and saw what sayed moking polish for chalenging, that, to me is the most lowest life form a person who called them self sportman could have.

Perhaves, they comes from different background. Perhaves they have never had any education and dont know ow to spell the word manner in real society. Perhaves apes should stay in the forest and not comeout on the street where they dont know the rules of traffic light.

I was so ashame for Iranian. Low. So low.

Perhaps (that’s how it’s spelled) you shouldn’t worry so much about Iran. We have a 7,000 year history. Read up on the achievements that are traced back to Iran. We have a sense of perspective that few cultures have. You on the other hand are VERY good at volleyball. Congratulations!

Come on guys! It is better to prepare yourself for another defeat, this time 3-0 with gap 😛
I am sad for your feelings but you can knock your head on the wall to be calm. Just think to USA they should earn 2 setts to fix their qualification and then they come to Poland to win you. You can knock your head on the wall another time. :))))))))))))))))

@oli oh really 100% true? I remember last year in world champion competitions one of Russian players insulted polish spectators very very badly. Every body criticized the player but no one insulted Russian culture. But when some of Iranian players make mistake and get angry in the court , every body attributes it to Iran, Iranian culture , Iranian nation , Iranian team. Why don’t you mention the comments that answered your insults politely? Why don’t you mention Mr Speraw ‘s message that proved Iranians are shown wrongly in the medias? You polish fans insulted Iranians after you lost your first match in Tehran but Iranians didn’t do the same thing when they lost their both matches in Poland. Is it exactly what your so called beautiful culture has taught you??????!!!!!!!!

Because Iranians in Poland behaved well but in teheran they still provoked, protest good decision referee
and they had no respect to nobody referee, players opposite team

Poland cares about what Russian or Iranian thinks as much as what Kim Dzong Un thinks about us. 🙂 (good joke)

@oli you didn’t got me well. I meant if some one makes mistakes we should not attribute it to their family or country men or culture. Another thing you didn’t pay attention to , is our people behavior. We lost both matches in Poland but didn’t insult polish people. But you insulted our nation after your first defeat. You didnt at least wait to see the result of the second match!!!

If we had a bad Americans announced their hosting of high level volleyball captain of Poland’s Kvbyak low yell if you are unhappy with the referee, the referee was very bad after what we say good manager knows how to break down the game’s morale weaken.
Iran’s volleyball high level players are excellent and it is clear.
The rest I apologize if you have been naughty by Iranian Iranians know that they are not purebred.
‘Iran is love’
