It was the battle for the top spot in Pool B. The winner would gain ticket for the Quarterfinals, while the loser would have to go firstly to the Playoffs stage… At the end, Turkey crushed Belgium in straight sets and claimed the spot among top 8 teams at the tournament.
Neriman Ozsoy was definitely the player in focus in this match. She scored 23 points and totally destroyed Belgian defense. On the other side, co-hosts of EuroVolley will want to forget this day as soon as possible. Not a single player from the Belgian squad reached double figures, while the top scorer was Lise Van Hecke with 7 points.
