Halkbank continued to terrorize opponents in the Turkish Division 1 by achieving eighth win in a row.

Besides beating Beşiktaş in straight sets, partially 25-17, 25-19, 25-19, one more thing can make Halkbank’s fans happy – Bulgarian opposite Tsvetan Sokolov reached full fitness and took his place in starting six, first time after nine months!

At the beginning of December he returned to the squad, but played only as substitute. Today, he already topped Halkbank’s scorers with 15 points.

The Dutch Niels Klapwijk had same scoring effect in Beşiktaş.

Arkas Spor, Turkish champions, also continued huge winning streak that now extends to seven games.

They defeated Bornova Anadolu Lisesi on road in straight sets, too, with 18 points from Brazilian Maurício Borges who, just like Sokolov, had major injury problems returning to court only one month ago (after six-month break).

Star of the day was Swedish Marcus Nilsson from Ziraat Bankası who collected 23 points in his team’s 3-0 victory over visiting Galatasaray HDI Sigorta
