The game between Verona and Modena turned into a real battle that lasted over two hours.
The hosts were forced to play a tie-break despite taking an early two-nil lead.
MVP: Marco Meoni.
Thijs Ter Horst (Marmi Lanza Verona): “We got off to an excellent start, we put our opponent under pressure as our serve continued to get better. From the third set on, though, they turned things around. We could have done a little bit better, especially in the tie-break, but I still think that overall this was a good game. The first two sets were very good, we should build on that for the next game against Trento”.
Daniele Bagnoli (Casa Modena): “We played one of our worst games, the players seemed tense, we’ll have to talk about it tomorrow and understand what happened, at the end of the day training is going fine. Given how things went, we can only be happy we won two points. On the other side of the net, Meoni gave a lesson of volleyball”.
