Brazil claimed the first set despite spending most of it just behind Tunisia on the scoreboard. Wing spiker Elyes Garfi was Tunisia’s main attacking threat, but at 18-18 Brazil eased ahead with neat net touches from Rafael Araujo and Lucas Eduardo Loh that pushed them to a 21-18 win.

The second set was similar to the first, with the scores even up to the crucial final points when Brazil took control. Setter Thiago Veloso brought Rafael into the match more in the second set and the opposite became his team’s biggest source of points as they claimed the set 21-17 on a powerful spike from Lucas

Brazil saved their best for the final set where their almost error-free play – just one error point compared to six and seven in the first two sets, limited Tunisia’s ability to stay close on the scoreboard. Thiago and Henrique Pinto Otavio gave Tunisia problems with their serve and Brazil went from 12-8 up at the technical timeout to take the set 21-11 and the match 3-0.

Otavio finished tied with Rafael as Brazil’s top scorer with 10 points, while Garfi had the best record for Tunisia, also with 10.
