“It was a victory with a double sense because the other matches was more simple to play,” he said. “Zaytsev was phenomenal – he resolved a lot of points in moments of difficulty.”
Captain Emanuele Birarelli added: “Their opposite, Bociek had a great match and we struggled to stop him. But with a great deal of heart we were able to ovecome the difficulty and win the match.”
Polish coach Stéphane Antiga said: “I like how we faced this match. We were able to be head to head with Italy most of the time”.
Polish captain Lukasz Zygadlo said: “We played very well. But our lack of experience made the Italian victory possible.”
