The hosts of the 2019 African Men’s Championship, Tunisia, captured their 10th gold medal and remained the national team with most medals on their account in the continent, overall (19). In the final, in the city of Tunis, Tunisia defeated the bronze medalists from the previous edition of the tournament, Cameroon, by a 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 26-24. 21-25, 15-13) in one hour and 48 minutes of a play. Both sides progressed to the final as undefeated (5-0).
