Wilfredo León was visibly nervous at the start of the friendly match against the Netherlands, in which he debuted for Poland Men’s national team, not showing what Polish fans expected. But, in the later stages of the encounter he started to play his powerful Volleyball.

“There was no stress because we played a sparring match. The idea was to check what form we are in. But in such games, when you make your debut in a team, the first points are always difficult. Then everything was fine. For me and for the team, the most important thing is that we won 4-0. We played very calm today and it looked good, but I think that in the future we can play even better,” León said to Przegląd Sportowy after making a debut for Poland and added that he was aware that he can serve much better than in the match against the Netherlands (6 errors in 8 serves) and that he was not happy with this element of the game.

He was asked to rate his display on the scale of 1 to 10.

“It was 7 or 8.”
