Argentina Sweeps Brazil 3–0 in Wagner Memorial Opener

Argentina began the 22nd Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial in Kraków with an emphatic 3–0 win over Brazil (25-20, 25-22, 25-21). Marcelo Méndez’s team looked sharper and more composed throughout, showing strong preparation ahead of the upcoming World Championships.

The Albiceleste attack was led by Krukartsev with 15 points, supported by Luciano Vincentin (12) and Agustín Loser (10). For Brazil, Darlan Souza (12) and Arthur Bento (8) were the main scorers, but their efforts weren’t enough to stop Argentina’s dominant blocking and consistent pressure.

Brazil played without Alan Souza and Fernando Kreling, both sidelined with injuries, which left coach Bernardo Rezende with fewer options. Despite moments of fight, Brazil couldn’t match Argentina’s efficiency at key points in each set.

The Wagner Memorial, regarded as the world’s biggest international volleyball friendly tournament, serves as a crucial test before the World Championships. This year’s edition features Poland, Argentina, Brazil, and Serbia, with all matches hosted at Tauron Arena Kraków.
