After today’s matches Thailand, China and Iran moved to quarterfinals as the winners of their Pools.
Thailand, silver medallists at the recent Asian Games in Indonesia, were too strong for Korea. The match was finished in straight sets 25-18 25-19 25-17 in their last Pool A encounter.
In Pool B, Vietnam avenged the first round 2-3 (22-25 28-26 30-28 16-26 15-12) loss in the Jakarta-hosted Asian Games to Chinese Taipei to overpower the battling oppositions in the 131-minute hard-fought five-set thriller in their last pool round-robin preliminaries.
The Pool C encounter between Iran and Australia saw the former brush off the latter in straight sets 25-17 25-22 25-20.
