Defending champions Zhetysu began their AVC Women’s Champions League 2026 campaign with a tense five-set win over Beijing Arctic Ocean in Bangkok.
Zhetysu rallied from behind to secure a 3-2 victory (25-16, 22-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-13), keeping their title defense on track and advancing to the semifinals.
After taking the opening set, Zhetysu dropped the next two before responding strongly in the fourth and holding off Beijing in a closely contested decider.
Yiwen Miao led Zhetysu with 22 points, including 20 attacks, one block and one ace.
