The matches with Slovenia are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday:
“The players were extremely unhappy with their own performance against Bulgaria,” said Aleksandr Chervyakov, head coach of Azerbaijan
“They were lacking the right and necessary team chemistry, but this time they will be doing their best in order to win the upcoming matches with Slovenia.”
“The matches with Bulgaria were probably the worst ever since I started playing with the national team,” admitted team captain Anastasiya Gurbanova.
After the first round played last week, Azerbaijan is currently at the bottom of the standing in Pool A with zero points. Bulgaria tops the charts with six, with Slovenia and Turkey following in second and third place with three points apiece.
“I am confident that this weekend we will perform well and that our fans will be pleased with us,” Chervyakov concluded.
